Selling at Adabla Auctions
Adabla live broadcast auctions is an alternative to traditional auction houses and galleries. Adabla aims to help artists, property owners, private sellers and approved businesses to sell their works and goods to a wide audience through its unique online broadcast and timed auction platform.
How it works
To feature in one of our online auctions, simply log in or create a free account at www.adabla.com/register Your details are completely safe with us.
2 Consign or request a valuation
Fill in the Consign or valuation request form Select the auction where you’d like to sell your items. Describe your lot(s) as best as possible, and add clear images.
3 Lot (s) approved
Adabla will send you an acknowledgment and a confirmation message once your lot (s) has been approved and is to be scheduled for sale at auction or is suitable for an alternative method.
Consigning your property for our Live Webcast Auctions
Upon deciding to consign a lot to our sale you will receive a full customer receipt from us – this receipt will outline the details of the items you wish to consign including sale dates, brief description, estimates and any reserves discussed and the commission/ charges involved. It is important that you retain a copy of this customer receipt, and the associated Conditions of Sale for your reference - it is a record of your instruction to us to sell and acts as a contract with Adabla.
Selling at our Timed Auction
The consignment principle remains the same as the live webcast auction. Unlike the live broadcast auction, the seller for the timed auction keeps his item(s) until sold unless otherwise agreed. You only ship the item(s) within 5 working days after being notified by Adabla of reception of the payment of the sold item (s) in cleared funds from the buyer.
Agreeing a reserve price and guide price
When appropriate, a reserve (a price below which an item will not be sold ) may be placed upon individual items. Reserves cannot exceed the low estimate. Our specialist will advise you on deciding a reserve In our experience a high reserve can put some bidders off whereas a low reserve encourages more bidders to participate generating higher prices.
Our standard seller’s commission is 10% plus VAT on the winning bid. Each lot is subject to a minimum commission charge of £30. Commission fees are used for extensively promoting our auctions, among other things.
Seller’s commission Rates
10% on the first £50,000 of the Hammer Price
8% from £51,000 to £100,000 the Hammer Price
5% from £101,000 to 200,000 of the Hammer Price
3% from £201,000 t0 500,000 of the hammer price
2% from £501,000 of the hammer price
If the Seller withdraws any Property from sale after their written agreement to sell it, ADABLA may charge the Seller 50% of the Seller's Commission and Buyer's Premium ADABLA would have received for the Property sold at its mid estimate, plus all Expenses (the "Withdrawal Fee").
Shipping costs from the seller to the buyer
As a seller, you must indicate shipping costs for various destinations when offering up your lot, including to the United Kingdom, The European Union (EU), Europe and Countries outside Europe.
After the auction, Adabla will notify the seller as to the status of each lot offered for sale. Provided payment has been received from the buyer, we will pay net sale proceeds (the hammer price less the vendor’s commission and sale-related expenses) to the seller 30 calendar days after the auction, by way of cheque or bank transfer together with a detailed statement. All payments are made in pound sterling, unless otherwise instructed. We'll notify you once the buyer has transferred payment to Adabla. Only then should you ship the items, making sure to do so within 5 working days.
For each consigned lot, Adabla may charge the seller a vendor’s commission and sale-related expenses which include the cost of Liability for loss or damage, packing and costs for insured property transport Costs where applicable. We will discuss these charges with you at the time of consignment.
Adabla charges a flat rate of 2.5% to cover your property against any loss or damage during transit period where applicable.
Each sold lot will be subject to a £10 online listing charge where applicable. This allows for your lot to be promoted not only on our own website but also through several other international auction platforms.
